Actor/Performer

Virgie Poole developed a love and admiration for acting through middle school and high school, but deviated from the Arts track to pursue a career in synthetic biology. She has a Master’s degree in Biology from MTSU and currently works in industry at Pivot Bio.
In Winter 2024, Virgie returned to acting with a Beginning Acting course at Berkeley Rep Theatre School. This was enough to rekindle that same love and admiration for carefully creating and crafting a character she’d missed all those years ago. Since then, she has continued classes at Berkeley Rep Theatre school including: Intro to Meisner, Tap Dance, Advanced Acting, and On-Camera Acting.
In addition to formal education, Virgie graced the stage once again as ‘Margaret’ in Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” produced by Actor’s Ensemble of Berkeley and directed by Glenn Havlan (Summer 2024). She subsequently played the leads in both a staged read of “Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of the Missing Mystery” (2024, AE of Berkeley, Tyler Null) and “Something Grand” (2024, Playwrights Center of San Francisco, Neil Harkins). She is currently starring as ‘Celia’ in Masquers Playhouse’s adaptation of “Calendar Girls” directed by Michael Sally (Feb 2025).
During the interim periods of plays, Virgie is involved in local film. Her first role was as ‘Mother’ in a University of California, Berkeley film called ” Dear Mariola” (Mikayla Heslin, 2024). She followed this up shortly with featured extra work on a pilot for Little Legion Production’s “Giggin'”, a lead role in UC Berkeley’s CAP Club’s production of “Clowns at a Wedding” (Power Line Pictures, 2024), as well as miscellaneous work with the San Francisco Film School.
There are no words to describe how Virgie feels returning to acting after all those years off; to generate an entire emotional range for someone who was only ink on a page a few moments earlier, and is only getting better with every single project.
